REGISTER FOR FINANCIAL MANAGEMENT I
Build your confidence in interpreting financial information and using it to support municipal planning and decision-making. This practical course examines:
- The legislative and accounting framework for municipal finance
- Fund accounting and the municipal financial cycle
- Municipal financial statements
- Variance analysis and performance indicators
- Long-term financial planning
- Operating and capital budgets
- Year-end financial reporting
The course includes two facilitated virtual sessions, municipal examples, group activities, independent learning and an electronic participant workbook. Participants must complete both parts to receive a certificate of completion.

Together, the two AMANS modules are recognized as equivalent to OLCD-LGOV0037 Municipal Finance, one of the certificate’s three required courses.
