County, Inverness County, and Richmond County
The Association of Municipal Administrators of Nova Scotia extends its deepest support and solidarity to our colleagues in Port Hawkesbury, Victoria County, Inverness County, and Richmond County as your communities face exceptional adversity. Municipal professionals are often the steady hands guiding residents through uncertainty, and in these difficult days, your leadership, resilience, and compassion are making a profound difference.
Across Nova Scotia, your fellow administrators recognize the weight of the responsibilities you carry. Whether coordinating emergency services, supporting families affected by loss, or maintaining essential operations under pressure, your commitment to public service reflects the very best of our profession. Please know that the entire AMANS community stands with you and is ready to assist in any way possible.
AMANS also wishes to acknowledge the extraordinary efforts of first responders who continue to work tirelessly to protect people and property. Firefighters, paramedics, police, EMO personnel, public works teams, and dedicated volunteers are demonstrating remarkable courage and endurance. Their actions—often taken under dangerous and emotionally challenging circumstances—are safeguarding lives today and laying the foundation for community recovery in the days ahead. We honour their service and express our profound gratitude. As Nova Scotians, we are reminded once again of the importance of emergency preparedness, strong local coordination, and the simple act of looking out for one another. The new website reflects AMANS’ ongoing commitment to supporting municipal administrators across Nova Scotia with practical information, professional development opportunities, and accessible online resources. Visitors are encouraged to explore the updated site and check back regularly for new updates, events, and member-focused content.
AMANS Qualified List of Investigators – Municipal Code of Conduct

The following is a list of investigators qualified through the Association of Municipal Administrators, Nova Scotia (AMANS) request for qualification (RFQ) process that closed on January 17, 2025.
AMANS worked with its internal Procurement Committee to evaluate all submissions received. Committee members evaluated each proposal and then met to reach consensus on the proponents. The ten listed organizations were qualified.
Unless otherwise indicated, all investigators met the Procurement Committee’s evaluation thresholds for criteria related to investigations, including corporate/financial, legal/adjudication, and human resources (HR). Each investigator has indicated the capacity to address potential complaints. Should a municipal unit choose to use this list, they will need to verify with the potential investigator if there may be capacity limits with client onboarding.
