So what is workplace wellness, and where to begin?
Workplace wellness is essentially any workplace health promotion activity or practice or policy designed to support healthy behavior in your Municipality. It can range from simply allowing time for exercise or providing on-site kitchen and eating areas and healthy food options to educating employees on healthy behaviours, on-site health risk screenings or weight management programs.
The concept of workplace wellness may seem overwhelming and costly, but it doesn't need to be! This wellness site is designed as a starting point to support Nova Scotia Municipal Units who are ready to take steps toward promoting workplace wellness. Whether you want to start small or go big, we hope you'll find this site to be a useful—and practical–resource.
