The Association offers several events throughout the year they include:
Annual Fall Convention
This event is attended by approximately 140 delegates and offers workshops relevant to municipal government, networking events and an exhibit show. The Annual General Meeting of the Association is held during the Fall Convention during which the Association’s Board of Directors is elected. The 2012 Annual Fall Convention is scheduled for November 6-9th at the Atlantica Hotel is Halifax.
Municipal IT Professionals Conference
For the past two years the AMA has been running a Municipal IT Conference concurrently with the AMA Convention. This allows an opportunity for IT Professionals and others in the organization to get together on common issues. Sessions are held specifically for IT professionals, but also workshops that both senior administrators and IT Professionals benefit equally.
Annual Spring Conference:
This event is typically hosted by an AMA region and usually attended by 75 or 80 delegates. It offers workshops and is an excellent opportunity to share best practices with colleagues. The 2012 Annual Spring Conference is scheduled for June 20-22 at the Atlantic Oak Island Inn in Chester.
The CAO/CEO Forum is an opportunity for Mayors/Wardens to work together with Chief Administrative Officers on issues of significant importance to municipal government in Nova Scotia. The 2012 CAO/CEO Forum is scheduled for April 26 & 27 at the Atlantica Hotel in Halifax.
