2015 CAO/CEO Forum - Municipal Leadership: Communication and Change Leadership
Offered by the Association of Municipal Administrators of Nova Scotia and the Union of Nova Scotia Municipalities, this two day workshop is intended to enhance the leadership skills of Nova Scotia’s municipal administrators and elected officials. It will build awareness and an understanding of (a) communication skills such as diplomacy and conflict management, and (b) how to effectively manage change.
After participating in this program, and with practice, learners will be able to:
Use effective communication strategies when conducting municipal business
Manage conflict effectively
Build relationships with a variety of stakeholders
Lead, manage, and evaluate change initiatives
Make fair and rational decisions (Elected Officials)
Build teams and uphold standards for workplace culture (Managers)

The cost for the CAO/CEO Forum is $485 + HST per person. After March 11th the fees go up to $550 + HST per person. Your municipality will be billed for the event.
A block of rooms is being held by the Association of Municipal Administrators at the Atlantica Oak Island Resort and Conference Centre. Room rates are $99 for a landside guestroom and $119 for an oceanside guestroom.
All accommodation rates include a full hot breakfast and are based on single/double occupancy. An additional person charge of $25.00 + HST per night will apply above the occupancy listed. All rates are subject to HST. A 15% gratuity of $1.80 + HST for breakfast will apply per person.
