HRM Training

The AMA Education Committee in conjunction with the Halifax Regional Municipality is pleased to be able to offer other municipal members of the AMA access to selected training opportunities currently provided to staff of HRM and its Agencies, Boards and Commissions.

The HRM Training Calendar 2011-12  offers various courses in the following areas:

  • Occupational Safety
  • Wellness
  • All New Employees
  • Career Development
  • Diversity
  • Sustainability E-Learning
  • Financial Management 
  • Quality Management
  • Communication
  • SAP ECC 6.0

Training topics have been developed based on the municipal needs of HRM. The selection of trainers and associated fees has been vetted through the HRM Procurement Policy:

  1. Direct access: A limited number of spaces have been set aside in the available courses
    Location: within HRM

    Cost: Your travel along with any training materials necessary

  2. Referral Service: Access to trainers and facilitators who have proven trace record with HRM and have programs already developed that can be used or programs can be tailored to your specific needs. These programs can be held in a location convenient to you.

    Cost: to be determined on a case by case basis dependent on whether internal or external consultants are used.

Cancellation Policy:
In those cases where an employee is registering for an in-house HRM training workshop, cancellation must be received one-week prior to the workshop or your municipality will be billed. If your municipal unit us using an HRM trainer the cancellation policy will vary depending on your contract with that particular trainer.
